Hadrian (Wizard we know in town): Comes to us at the beginning of the session asking for more shards. The progress on that helmet he was working on has been stopped by the zone getting closed off for a bit.

El-El (Alchemist we met): She's looking buff af now that her soup is done!

Surti: Has some friends among the Grey Badger; apparently a recent coup happened! From what he hears, one of the upper leaders was killed by another upper leader due to the moving Kraken Dungeon. He has a friend named Naphel who he's concerned about.

The Kraken moves at roughly 12mi/week.

We decide to track down the Grey Badger lair, leaving the fort and heading to the north down the road. Our forward party (so devised to pass by an ambush spot we heard about via rumor) comes across 32 bandits roughly 100 meters away. 1 of the bandits (a human) seems to be mediating an argument among the bandits. There are twice as many humans in the group than dwarves.

The mediating bandit seems to be much more ornately dressed than his counterparts, and has long, flowing hair. His name is Syril, and he's actually pretty nice. He tells us a bit more about the coup that occured; apparently, Nephel has been slain by one of the other higher-ups, Ezek, and his retainers, while the Kraken attacked their old fort. This group of bandits are a faction who broke away from Ezek and are now looking for refuge in a village to the east. The Kraken is still at the Grey Badger's fortress. Syril's group of bandits look to rendesvouz with a community of refugees somewhere far to the east.

Notably, Syril has a sentient dwarven sword named Euflid. Could Syril be ego-dominated?

We decide to head to the Grey Badger's fortress and wait for the Kraken to move off of it. Luckily, it moves off of the fort as we approach, letting us into it without issue! While searching the ruins, Carlemagne uncover 6 Giant Skeletons (whoops!). In the ensuing combat, Pignose plants a seed and evokes Atiel to trap a few in vines, while Lander evokes Atiel to turn another. We hide in one of the fortress tower's and barricade the door and the skeletons leave, leaving us all alone in our new crib!!

We loot the fort and discover 4400gp in gems! Let's get the fuck outta the Zone and go back to Fort Ashrock!

As we return to Ashrock on our horses, we are struck with a volley of arrows! Ezek has returned to Fort Ashrock and staged an ambush on us. In the ensuing flight, Lander and one of our hirelings are slain. The rest of the arrows are ineffective. We flee into the setting sun, vowing to return and slay these foes where they came from.
